100% UBQ™ Powder became certified by EU REACH – allowing easy commerce into the EU, advancing UBQ’s global expansion.

Tel Aviv, Israel – September 22, 2021 – According to Article 8 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), UBQ™ Powder supplied by UBQ Materials contain 100 %(w/w) of substances which are either exempt from the obligation to Register or are covered within the supply chain by Registrations with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

    What is REACH?

REACH entered into force on June 1st, 2007 and it stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals.

The EU REACH regulation aims to improve the protection of human health and the environment through a system of Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. As a European Regulation REACH applies directly in all 28 Member States of the European Union. It also applies to Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway as member countries of the European Economic Area.

In order to become EU REACH compliant, companies need to recognize and manage the risks linked to the material they manufacture and sell in the EU, and prove that the substance can be used safely before they attain the REACH certificate of compliance.

What does it mean for UBQ?

This accreditation is an addition to UBQ’s certifications following ISO 9001 for Quality Management System, ISO 14001:2015 for effective Environmental Management System, Near Food Contact Material Authorization EU, California Proposition 65, RoSH, SVHC, TSCA, and more.

“Receiving the REACH certificate is another meaningful milestone in UBQ’s goal to prioritize the highest global standard of governance and regulatory compliance.”
    – Tato Bigio, UBQ Materials Co-Founder and Co-CEO
