Plastics Industry Expert, Patricia Mishic O’Brien Joins UBQ Materials as Chief Commercial Officer to Drive Sustainable Transformation of Materials Sector

      9 May 2023

Tel Aviv – May 9, 2023 – UBQ Materials, climate tech developer of advanced materials made from waste, announced today the appointment of Patty Mishic O’Brien as Chief Commercial Officer.

Bringing over 25 years of experience in the specialty chemicals and advanced materials industry, Mishic O’Brien will leverage her extensive commercial development know-how and network to drive top line growth for UBQ Materials. Her appointment bolsters the company’s global expansion in advance of opening its first large-scale facility in the Netherlands in 2023.

“Raw materials affect every industry worldwide, impacting the environment and altering our resource balance and carbon footprint from the very start of the supply chain,” said Mishic O’Brien. “Coming from a more traditional materials space, I’m motivated to accelerate the implementation of UBQ™ as a standard substitute to oil-based plastics. Significant impact starts with a simple material swap that is available to global players today.”

Prior to joining UBQ Materials, Mishic O’Brien served as the Chief Commercial Officer for CoorsTek, a leading global manufacturer of engineered ceramics. Previously, she was the Chief Marketing Officer & Executive Vice President at A. Schulman, Inc., a global supplier of high-performance plastic compounds, composites, and powders (now a LyondellBasell company). Mishic O’Brien also spent over a decade with Dow Chemical Company, serving in domestic and global leadership roles focused on strategic marketing and business development.

“We envision every country in the world having a UBQ facility, driving a triple impact, transforming the ecosystems of waste, materials, and green jobs” said Albert Douer, Co-CEO and Chairman of UBQ Materials. “Patty’s expertise and industry insight will help catalyze this vision and support UBQ’s global expansion in the coming years.”

Mishic O’Brien will be based in Miami, Florida, the US headquarters for UBQ Materials
