Professional Background
Veronica Davila is the Chief Financial Officer of UBQ Materials, where she leads the company’s global finance function, overseeing capital formation, strategic planning, investor relations, and financial governance.
Working closely with UBQ’s founders, institutional investors, and strategic partners, Veronica plays a key role in aligning the company’s financial infrastructure with its mission of scaling sustainable, climate-positive materials worldwide.
A seasoned C-level executive and independent board member, Veronica brings over 20 years of experience across capital markets, commodities trading, and investment banking. Prior to joining UBQ, she served as CFO of GeoPark, a $500M NYSE-listed oil and gas company operating across Latin America.
There, she managed a 150-person finance team, secured an $80M unsecured credit facility – a first among industry peers – and led a $180M deleveraging effort including bondholder consent and market repurchases.
She also provided strategic oversight as a board member of GeoPark Colombia SLU, supporting effective capital allocation and value creation across subsidiaries. Earlier roles at GeoPark included Chief Economist and Commercial Director, where she spearheaded a commercial strategy that boosted operating results by $200M, navigated a $315M acquisition, and secured $100M in crisis financing during the COVID pandemic.
Veronica began her finance career at Goldman Sachs in New York, first in the Latin America Investment Banking division – advising on major M&A and IPO transactions – and later as Vice President in the Commodities Group, where she led structured finance and risk management solutions for corporate and sovereign clients across Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Argentina.
