Connie Hedegaard

Connie Hedegaard is a Danish politician, public intellectual, and internationally renowned leader in climate action. Serving as the European Commissioner for Climate Action from 2010 to 2014, Connie Hedegaard spearheaded efforts to integrate climate protection into European policies, aiming to position Europe as the most climate-friendly region in the world.

Connie’s career has been defined by her commitment to sustainable development. On behalf of Denmark, she hosted the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (2009) and led Denmark’s Energy Policy 2008–2011, making Denmark the first country to commit to an overall energy reduction.
