UBQ™ is a USDA Certified Biobased product, labeled to certify that the majority content within the material is bio-based. In the case of UBQ™ this speaks to the composition of organic matter versus mixed plastics in household waste. Third-party verification for this label was administered through the USDA BioPreferred Program.
Why is bio-based better?

UBQ™ is certified by UL2809 to be made of 100% recycled content.
As a manufacturing ingredient, UBQ™ is a fully recyclable material. As dictated by circular economy requirements, it is capable of being looped back into its original material value, to be utilized over and over again. In contrast to conventional oil-based resins whose polymer chains are weakened with each cycle, UBQ™ material can be recycled up to 5x without degrading its physical qualities.
UBQ has worked closely with third-party validators such as Quantis, Vireo Advisors and SystemIQ, testing the technical properties and recyclability of products made with UBQ™. According to Richard McKinley, head consultant of Axion, “products made with UBQ™ masterbatch can be recycled alongside other standard polymers with no negative impacts to the resulting product”.
