When UBQ says we care, it doesn’t just pertain to our material or waste conversion processes. UBQ’s idea of caring covers every aspect of our business and directly influences decision making that steers towards positive impacts on our environment. That’s why when our factory needed remodeling, we opted for a more sustainable avenue allowing us to collaborate with MOLET—a group of creative professionals devoted to upcycled architecture, design, and education.
MOLET was able to offer us an innovative and meaningful way of thinking about our remodel. With their help, we completed the projects with 350kg of upcycled wood, 28 upcycled pallets and saved the logging of 2 pine trees! Another conscious aspect of this collaboration was being able to reduce the distance traveled to source the wood. Using a regular carpenter, the distance would have been up to 10,000km–considering most wood is sourced from countries like Ukraine, Canada, Sweden, and numerous others–but we were able to minimize this to just 200km.
MOLET’s projects are all about giving new life to discarded materials, just like our mission at UBQ with waste conversion. We both take ownership in our actions to create positive social change that enables revolutionary innovation for the future of our environment. Together we are setting new industry standards and showing our networks where our priorities lie, with the preservation of our planet.
