As the former CEO of Owens Corning, Mike’s vast experience and passion for sustainability are critical for the scale-up of UBQ, to become a global leader in the circular economy.
Mike also serves on the Board of Directors of the Toledo Museum of Art and the Executive Committee of the Toledo Symphony.
Gil Felus is the Chief Operating Officer of UBQ. He focuses on the operational development of UBQ’s technological platform while managing the day to day operations of the R&D factory.
Gil spent 22 years in the Kafrit Group, a leader within the plastics compounding industry in Israel and Europe. At Kafrit, he was responsible for all on site operations in Israel and the UK.
Gadi Stahl is the Chief Technology Officer of UBQ Materials, previously serving as UBQ’s consultant on materials and formulations.
In 1972, Gadi co-founded Kafrit Industries, a leader within the plastics compounding industry in Israel and Europe, and served as the company’s technical manager for over 40 years.
Sophie has 20 years of experience in international marketing for leading global Israeli companies in the industrial sector. With a background in chemical, plastics and automotive industries Sophie provides an understanding of the industry requirements and standards when catering to the customers’ needs.
Sophie has a long record of success in opening new markets and creating strategic alliances.
She holds a BA in Economics and an MBA from Ben Gurion University.
Gili Joined UBQ in 2016, bringing with him over 10 years of experience in global accounting roles. Gili began his career in Ernst & Young, Tel Aviv, industrial practice. Prior to joining UBQ, he held an accounting and financing role at the Shaniv Paper industries (TASE).
Gili is a Certified Public Accountant. He also holds a BA in Economics and Accounting from Ben-Gurion University and an MBA from the College of Management.
Derek comes to UBQ with 14 years of global experience in polyolefin compounding. Based on the custom nature of these products, Derek looks forward to using his experience to help the UBQ Team develop value-added solutions for existing and emerging marketplaces.
Derek has a strong track record in commercializing tailored solutions for Automotive, Consumer, Construction, Packaging, and Appliance Markets.
He holds a B.S.B.A. in Marketing from Northern Kentucky University (Go Norse!) and an MBA from University of Phoenix
Assuming the responsibilities of project management and day-to-day tasks, Estella creates and manages cross-departmental relationships to ensure UBQ’s leadership success. With a strong entrepreneurial background, Estella brings 15 years of experience running companies in the retail and financial service industries.
Estella holds a B.Sc and M.Sc in Chemistry, and an MBA of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Tel Aviv University.
Liat is the in-house story teller, developing and overseeing UBQ Materials’ event marketing and communications strategy across platforms. Liat founded Rimon Design House, a leading sales and consulting agency, representing ethically-produced consumer goods brands around the world. Prior to her focus within sustainability, Liat worked as a strategic planner at Publicis turning market insights into big ideas.
Rachel leads sustainability efforts at UBQ, working closely with clients and international organizations to advance the circular economy and decarbonize production. Prior to joining UBQ, Rachel was a social entrepreneur, creating businesses that leveraged social and economic networks to advance green procurement and normalize sustainability.
Prof. Kornberg was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2006 for his studies concerning how the information stored in genes is copied, and then transferred to those parts of the cells that produce proteins
Connie Hedegaard served as the European Commissioner for Climate Action in the European Commission from 2010-2014 and focused on making climate protection a part of every policy. She successfully negotiated the adoption of the EU 2030 Climate and Energy Framework.
John is currently Chairman and Chief Pollinator at Volans, a transformation agency working at the intersection of sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation.
Dr. Ilan Cohn is the senior partner at Reinhold Cohn, Israel’s largest intellectual property firm. He practice focuses on many technology disciplines. Cohn’s expertise lies particularly in developing and implementing IP strategies that become a profit yielding asset to investors and shareholders.
He holds a Ph.D. in Biology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Dr. Glenn Frommer is one of the pioneers of sustainability and the environmental movement, having worked in the field for more than 30 years. Prior to establishing ESG Matters in Hong Kong and Copenhagen, Glenn held senior management positions with the Mass Transit Railway Corporation (MTRC) Ltd. in Hong Kong for more than 22 years. He issued China’s first Sustainability Report in 2002 and founded the Sustainable Development Commission for the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in 2001.
Professor Oded Shoseyov is a faculty member of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem focusing on plant molecular biology protein engineering and nano-biotechonology, specifically Bio-Inspired Nano-composite materials.
