March 7, 2020: Mike Thaman, the former CEO of building giant Owens Corning, has been appointed to scale UBQ globally, initially focusing on North America.
Thaman served as CEO of Owens Corning for more than a decade, stepping down last year after growing the Ohio-headquartered company into a $7 billion revenue giant, employing 20,000 workers worldwide. “When I was exploring new opportunities after Owens Corning, I was looking for a chance to make a real impact, in both industry and on the health of our planet,” Thaman told The Jerusalem Post.
UBQ’s current CEO and Co-Founder Jack (Tato) Bigio will now serve as the CEO of UBQ Israel, where he will oversee the company’s material and technology development, expand UBQ’s business in the region, and support UBQ’s global expansion.
“Mike’s decision to join our company and lead its expansion clearly demonstrates our ability to scale UBQ Materials,” said Co-Founder Yehuda Pearl. “We are sure that Mike’s proven track record and demonstrated character will be instrumental in enabling us to eventually have UBQ fulfill its mission to become ubiquitous as an alternative to plastic.”
Welcome to the team, Mike!
